This is a recipe for a classic Manhattan. Keep it simple and sip is slowly. You can play with the ratios on this drink. For a sweeter Manhattan try going with equal parts rye and vermouth. For a Reverse Manhattan you can switch the ratio and put twice as much vermouth as rye.
- 1-1/2 oz Rye Whiskey
- 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until chilled and for proper dilution. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a single maraschino cherry.
